Since the beginning of this year, the market for Dunhuang culture study tours has been heating up, leading to a significant increase in the number of study participants visiting the Dunhuang Yardang National Geopark. According to statistics from the Dunhuang Culture and Tourism Department, from January to March 27, the park welcomed 28,637 study participants, marking a 126 percent increase compared to last year.
Located 160 kilometers northwest of Dunhuang city, the Dunhuang Yardang National Geopark spans an area of 398.4 square kilometers. The park is renowned for its rich and diverse geological relics, boasting over 5,500 Yardang landforms across 77 geological sites. These features are primarily Quaternary geological relics shaped by wind erosion, alongside natural desert landscapes. It is one of China's three most beautiful Yardangs and is the largest, most maturely developed, and most visually stunning Yardang geomorphologic cluster discovered so far. The park holds significant value for scientific research, education, and study tours, attracting numerous study groups to conduct educational activities.
