During the upcoming new civil aviation season, additional overseas air routes are set to be introduced at Beijing's two airports, marking the continued recovery of China's international civil aviation market.
The summer and autumn civil aviation season in China, spanning 210 days, will conclude on October 26.
Beijing Daxing International Airport has announced the inclusion of three new international destinations for passenger flights departing from the airport: Dhaka in Bangladesh, Teheran in Iran, and Bangkok in Thailand.
"With the continuous recovery of the international aviation market, Daxing Airport will gradually open more international flight routes," said Su Yiming from the airport's civil aviation department, adding that 11,000 to 12,000 international passenger trips are currently seen at the airport everyday.
The airport plans to operate an average of 76 overseas flights daily, including flights to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, connecting about 40 overseas destinations. These destinations include popular tourist cities such as Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Osaka, Doha, Abu Dhabi and London.
China Southern Airlines is scheduled to launch four new overseas routes from Daxing Airport to Teheran, Riyadh, Dhaka and Macao during the new season.
Beijing Capital International Airport, the other airport in Beijing, is also expected to witness an increase in international flights during the new season.
The airport plans to operate an average of 190 overseas flights daily, representing a 20 percent increase compared to the current season.
Notably, at the beginning of the new season, 52 round trips are planned to be operated between Beijing Capital and various destinations in the United States every week, including 18 flights to San Francisco, 10 flights to New York, 8 flights to Los Angeles, 4 flights to Washington, 6 flights to Boston and 6 flights to Seattle.
