The 2024 Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Expo and the 17th Pan'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Expo took place in Pan'an county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Sept 29, bringing together experts, pharmaceutical companies, tourism enterprises, and research institutions from the traditional Chinese medicine sector nationwide.
Various activities were held during the expo, including the selection of Zhejiang's top 10 medicinal diets, the display and tasting of medicinal delicacies, a competition for identifying Chinese medicinal materials, and exhibitions of traditional Chinese medicine health and nutrition products.
Pan'an has been establishing itself as a hub for medicinal diets since the Zhejiang Province Qiushi Medicinal Diet Science Research Institute was founded in 2014. Over the past decade, Pan'an has focused on setting standards, talent cultivation, industry advancement, and market development, helping to grow its brand influence.
During the opening ceremony, Zhejiang's first batch of Good Agricultural Practices extended inspection results for Chinese medicinal materials were announced, affirming the compliance of several companies' planting bases with the requirements.
"Traditional Chinese medicine is the biggest advantage of Pan'an and traditional Chinese medicine health is its dominant industry," said Jin Yan, Party secretary of the county. Pan'an aims to integrate traditional Chinese medicine into daily life, fostering the development of the entire industrial chain to further enrich the legacy of traditional Chinese medicine in the county.
