The opening ceremony of the 10th Jinhua Sports Games was held at the Jinhua Sports Center Stadium in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on the evening of Sept 22.
Athletes from counties, cities, and districts across Jinhua marched into the venue with high spirits and determined strides, with athlete and referee representatives taking their oaths.
The opening ceremony dazzled spectators with a series of fantastic performances, showcasing the city's vibrant energy and cultural charm. From Jinhua Mountain to the Wujiang River, the event celebrated not just sports but also the rich cultural tapestry of Jinhua.
Young athletes stole the show with displays of talent in popular sports like basketball, cycling, rope skipping, and breakdancing, embodying the spirit of joy and healthy competition.
The Jinhua Sports Games, known for the prestige and large scale, feature 25 major events and 38 competitions, with 877 gold medals to be awarded in competitive sports and 72 in mass sports.
Over 8,000 athletes, coaches, and referees from nine delegations will compete in the games. All of the athletes are under 18 years old, representing their respective regions with pride.
The games, which have already commenced with several events prior to the opening ceremony, are set to continue with competitions in athletics, swimming, equestrian sports, and more.
