Pan'an county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, saw an international team compete in its village gas volleyball competition on Aug 24.

At the venue, located next to the Wenxi River in Pan'an, the Aiyue Club, composed of players from Afghanistan and Russia, joined local teams in an intense and spirited competition. The audience switched between Chinese and English as they cheered on the teams, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

"We were attracted here by the event's strong reputation," said Li Hongbin, leader of Aiyue Club. "The competition is extremely popular, and we really wanted to experience it firsthand."

The competition, known as the "Village Volleyball Association", kicked off on July 6, initially featuring 14 village teams from Anwen Street in Pan'an. Following the first week, it opened up online registration, quickly attracting gas volleyball enthusiasts from all over the country.

"Currently, there are over 80 teams from all over the country registered to compete, and games have been scheduled for every weekend in October," said Dai Junmin, the event's organizer and president of the Pan'an Gas Volleyball Association. There are also participants from Afghanistan, Russia, and Australia, gradually propelling the event onto the international stage.
