On July 27, the Chinese duo of Sheng Lihao and Huang Yuting clinched the gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team at the Paris Olympics, marking the first gold medal of the Games.

In the market of Yiwu, known as the capital of small commodities in East China's Zhejiang province, not only are vendors constantly following updates on Olympic athletes, but they also quickly identified a new bestseller as news of Huang's victory spread back to China - her hair clip. In the women's 10m air rifle final, in which Huang secured a silver medal, she wore the same hair clip.

Currently, this hair clip is in high demand, with the materials for production facing backlogs.

In addition to the champion-inspired items, many vendors at Yiwu's market are selling Olympic-themed jewelry, such as earrings incorporating the colors of the French flag, which are popular among foreign markets, especially in Europe.

This isn't the first time Yiwu has experienced a surge in sales of Olympic-inspired items. Three years ago, after Yang Qian won the gold medal in the women's 10m air rifle event at the Tokyo Olympics, the duck-shaped hair clip she wore sparked a frenzy on domestic e-commerce platforms, with search volumes skyrocketing.

Many Taobao stores even offered "Yang Qian-inspired" duck hair clips and carrot hair tie combo sets.

As a hub for fashion jewelry research, manufacturing, and sales in China, the Yiwu jewelry industry closely follows global trends, constantly updating styles and improving product quality. "Racing against time to boost sales" has become the norm.
