The "2024 Chinese Bridge Portuguese Educators' Visit to Wuyi" event brought visitors to Wuyi county, Jinhua to experience China's whole-process people's democracy firsthand.

The Wuyi county people's congress liaison station is open to both deputies and the public. Chen Yingchun, director of the Wuyi county people's congress standing committee, explained how the county practices whole-process people's democracy through democratic elections, consultations, decision-making, management, and supervision.

Joao Medeiros, an assistant councilor from Braga, Portugal, expressed his interest in China's People's Congress system. He noted the significant difference between his previous perceptions and the reality, stating, "Chinese democracy solves problems, like eradicating absolute poverty, benefiting the people."

Carla Mota, a curriculum development project leader from Portugal's Ministry of Education, praised China's transparent and effective democratic system. She highlighted the continuous process of gathering public opinions to address people's concerns, which she believes is key to China's achievements.

In Tantou village, visitors learned about rural vitalization and the construction of liaison points, witnessing grassroots democracy in action.

During the visit, visitors were impressed by the depth of China's grassroots democracy. They noted that the liaison points and representative offices effectively bridge the gap between the government and the people, allowing for comprehensive participation in village development. Many expressed a desire to share China's democratic practices with their home countries, promoting a better understanding of China's whole-process people's democracy.
