Beihouzhou village: A blend of tradition and modernity

Nestled at the foot of Tongshan Mountain in Dongyang, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, Beihouzhou village is a sparkling gem rich in historical charm.

The village boasts a wealth of ancient architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), with the highlight being the historical architectural complex of Zhaoqing Hall, dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Leveraging its unique bamboo weaving culture, Beihouzhou has developed a thriving rural tourism industry. Zhaoqing Hall alone attracts over 30 film and television production teams annually, generating approximately 450,000 yuan ($62,019.09) in income for the village.

To further enrich the visitor experiences, the village has introduced a museum and a boutique homestay. It also hosts a variety of vibrant events showcasing its rich folk customs.

Embracing cutting-edge digital technologies, Beihouzhou is creating an integrated agricultural, cultural, and tourism future countryside lifestyle scene. This innovative approach showcases bamboo woven daily necessities, martial arts culture, and costumes and props from historical dramas.

The village has diversified its economy by developing businesses across multiple sectors, including cultural tourism, night tours, educational tourism, health and wellness, and camping.
