A delegation consisting of 23 members from Pujiang county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province made their mark at the 27th Prague International Dragon Boat Race held in Prague, Czech Republic from May 11 to 12, local time.

Participating in both the 20-person 200-meter mixed race and the 20-person 2,000-meter mixed race, the Pujiang delegation competed against 15 dragon boat teams hailing from countries like the Czech Republic, Germany, and others.

Their outstanding performance earned them the prestigious title of "Best Asian Team" along with a medal presented by the Prague International Dragon Boat Race Organizing Committee.

Team leader Yu Qiang noted that participating in this competition not only exposed members of the delegation to exotic cultures but also fostered enduring friendships with local dragon boat enthusiasts.

This year holds special significance as it marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the Czech Republic. The event showcased various Chinese elements such as Chinese calligraphy and tea tasting, alongside a special exhibition highlighting the Shangshan Culture, originating from Pujiang.

Following the successful Egyptian Shangshan Culture Archaeological Exhibition in December 2023, this international exhibition focused on rice cultivation, settlement practices, and colored pottery within the Shangshan Culture.

"Nearly 10,000 years ago, the ancestors of Pujiang initiated rice cultivation. It's truly a remarkable feat", remarked a foreign visitor after exploring the exhibition.
