Jinhua gears up for first marathon

Jinhua in Zhejiang province is preparing for its first marathon, with a series of proactive measures being implemented ahead of the event, scheduled to commence on March 31, according to an announcement at a news conference on March 18.

It was revealed at the conference that 15,000 participants are expected to participate in the event, which is divided into three categories —  the full marathon, with 4,000 participants, the half marathon, with 6,000 participants, and the fun run with 5,000 participants.

Preparations for the event, including clothing storage and retrieval, check-in, assembly, distribution of race kits, course guidance, medical stations, and supply stations, are all progressing in an orderly manner, with the aim of providing the best possible experience to all participants.

To ensure the safety and well-being of participants, three designated hospitals and 30 ambulances with on-site drivers will provide emergency vehicle support, complemented by 30 designated medical stations.

The marathon course starts at the City Sports Center and traverses the entire city, connecting key landmarks such as Huhaitang Park, the Asian Games Village, and the China Wuju Opera Troupe and offering runners a chance to experience the unique charm of Jinhua's scenery.

Furthermore, multiple supply stations have been placed along the course, offering a variety of drinks, water, and food such as bread, bananas, and fruits to ensure runners are adequately nourished.
