Jinhua in Zhejiang province experienced a significant surge in tourism during this year's Spring Festival holiday, with over 3.6 million tourists visiting from Feb 10 to 17, according to authorities.
This marked a 28.83 percent increase compared to the previous year, and a 19.1 percent growth compared to the same period in 2019, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The top five scenic attractions were the Hengdian World Studios, Youbu Ancient Town, Fangyan scenic area, Shuanglong scenic area, and Wuzhou Ancient Town.
A diverse range of cultural activities featuring folk customs, intangible cultural heritage items, lantern parades, and art performances were held to provide immersive experiences to visitors.
A tourist from Wenzhou noted that these events provided an opportunity for tourists to gain a better understanding of Jinhua's rich history and culture.
