Jinhua unveils 10 well-being projects

Jinhua in Zhejiang province released 10 well-being projects at the closing ceremony of the fourth session of the eighth Jinhua Municipal People's Congress on Feb 2.

These projects, spanning housing, education, healthcare, and living environment, aim to enhance residents' sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security, according to local authorities.

The city's initiatives include the installation of over 100 elevators in residential buildings, the establishment of 230 provincial-level high-standard demonstration communities for waste sorting, and the launch of service facilities integrated into the public space of residential areas.

In the realm of education, authorities will undertake the construction, renovation, and expansion of 12 public primary and secondary schools this year, with the goal of ensuring a 90 percent enrollment rate of school-age children in public schools for compulsory education.

In the healthcare sector, the local government plans to set up 100 government-run village-level healthcare centers and 70 standardized village-level healthcare clinics. Additionally, they aim to administer free pneumonia vaccinations to 88,000 local elderly residents aged 65 and above.

Jinhua also aims to address infrastructure needs by constructing or renovating 45 kilometers of rural roads, establishing 60 rural public transportation waiting shelters, and resolving 10 congestion and disorder points.

The city also plans to enhance traffic safety facilities at 3,000 rural road intersections, complete the transformation of charging networks for over 25 residential communities, and add 2,400 public charging stations, including 1,600 in rural areas.

Furthermore, local authorities intend to establish 60 elderly meal assistance centers and 600 beds for cognitive impairment care units. They also aim to create 33 standardized elderly schools in townships, along with 245 elderly learning centers in villages and communities.

Other initiatives include the upgrading of 95 rural water stations, the construction of 270 rural domestic sewage treatment facilities, and the improvement of 11,650 mu (776.67 hectares) of high-standard farmland.

In addition to these projects, authorities will implement a series of proactive measures to enhance food safety, child welfare, and emergency rescue services.
