Jinhua's GDP hits 601.13b yuan in 2023: Govt report

The GDP of Jinhua, Zhejiang province amounted to 601.13 billion yuan ($84.34 billion) in 2023, marking an increase of 6.8 percent year-on-year, as reported by Acting Mayor Zhang Jian during the fourth session of the eighth Jinhua Municipal People's Congress, which opened on Jan 30.

According to the report, the city's general public budget revenue experienced a yearly increase of 7.5 percent. Additionally, the per capita disposable income of urban residents and rural residents saw increases of 5.8 percent and 7 percent, respectively.

After reviewing the accomplishments of 2023, Zhang also unveiled the city's development goals for the upcoming year.

The report stated that Jinhua will strive to achieve GDP growth of roughly 6 percent. Additionally, the city set growth rate targets for investment in fixed assets and retail sales of consumer goods at 10 percent and 6 percent, respectively.

The city will also spare no effort to ensure that the growth of its general public budget revenue, income of residents, and economic output remain in sync with one another.

In addition, authorities will take measures to assist in employment for over 4,000 underprivileged individuals, as outlined in the report.
