The fourth session of the eighth Jinhua Municipal People's Congress commenced in Jinhua, Zhejiang province on Jan 30, as reported by local media.

Zhang Jian, acting mayor of Jinhua, presented the government work report, highlighting the city's substantial advancements in meeting the objectives outlined during the third session of the eighth Municipal People's Congress.

Notably, the city achieved a GDP of 601.13 billion yuan ($84.06 billion) in 2023, reflecting a growth rate of 6.8 percent. Furthermore, the general public budget revenue saw a notable increase of 7.5 percent, and the per capita disposable income for urban and rural residents experienced growth rates of 5.8 percent and 7 percent, respectively.

Zhang also outlined the overarching goals for this year's government work, emphasizing the city's commitment to achieving breakthroughs in economic development, the establishment of an international land port transportation hub, high-level openness, scientific and technological innovation, rural revitalization, improvement of people's wellbeing, and enhancement of social governance.
