The Lu-Family Residence in Dongyang and the Lingjiangyuan Forest Park in Pan'an county were recently designated as national 4A scenic spots, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced on Dec 19.
The 20,000-square-meter Lu-Family Residence is a major historical and cultural site under national-level protection and renowned for its brick, stone, and wood carvings and colorful paintings.
The residence boasts more than 40 classical gardens, academies, temples, and 26 memorial archways and is the largest and most well-preserved ancient building complex from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) in the Jiangnan region, referring to the area south of the Yangtze River.
Surrounded by mountains on all sides, Lingjiangyuan Forest Park boasts over 30,000 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter, offering pristine natural landscapes and breathtaking views.
With a forest coverage rate exceeding 98 percent, the park features a cluster of waterfalls beneath a glass bridge, creating a melodious natural symphony that rings throughout the year.
