Jinhua makes strides in improving residents' wellbeing

Jinhua in Zhejiang province has made significant strides in improving the wellbeing of its residents in 2023.

Specifically, the city has built, renovated and expanded 19 public primary and secondary schools this year, with an additional 19,440 school enrollment slots offered and the rate of migrant children receiving compulsory education in public schools increasing to 86.79 percent.

A total of 384,607 students in compulsory education received screening services for spinal disorders.

The local government has provided an additional 200 ICU beds, renovated and expanded 115 community and village healthcare centers, and offered free influenza vaccinations for 195,440 seniors aged 65 or above.

Authorities have installed smart service terminals for 114 community and village elderly care service centers, provided an additional 1,036 beds for the cognitively impaired, trained 1,635 certified elderly caregivers, and upgraded 146 public free-barrier facilities.

Jinhua also provided an additional 41 nurseries, with 3,349 nursing spots added, 2,705 of which are inclusive and affordable.

In 2023, the city built 36,723 government-subsidized rental apartments, renovated 25 old residential communities, and expanded 26 parks.

Jinhua has also made remarkable achievements in providing public cultural services, optimizing transportation, and strengthening government services, which will be key to enhancing people's sense of happiness, fulfillment and security.
