The "2023 Meijiang Baijiu Culture Festival and The Round Table Conference on Rural Revitalization and Common Prosperity of Northern Lanxi" was held in Meijiang town, Lanxi, Jinhua, Zhejiang province on Nov 19.
Through the selection of excellent brewing skills and liquor-makers, the activity is intended to promote the high-quality development of the Meijiang baijiu industry, contributing to the rural revitalization.
Meijiang baijiu is brewed using traditional fire-heating techniques, with high-quality sorghum or buckwheat and lotus seeds used as raw materials. The skill has existed for 600 years.
The round table conference brought together a number of experts and scholars from universities and research institutes including China Agricultural University and the natural medicine branch of the Chinese Aging Well Association.
Experts and scholars explored the introduction of agricultural and medical integration development projects to build a demonstration industrial base for the revitalization of northern Lanxi.
The opening ceremony of the Lanxi branch of Jinhua Academy of Agricultural Sciences was also held during the event.
Since the Lanxi municipal government signed cooperation agreements with the academy in March 2020, they have completed the construction of several projects such as the waxberry efficient cultivation demonstration base.
In the future, the Jinhua Academy of Agricultural Sciences will give full play to its system and technical talent to improve the development of agricultural industries including sorghum, waxberry and aquatic vegetables in Lanxi.
