The 16th Pujiang Calligraphy and Painting Festival opened in Pujiang county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province on Nov 13.
The event includes a parallel session in Beijing, where an exhibition showcasing 151 calligraphy works and paintings created by Pujiang locals is being held at the National Art Museum of China from Nov 11.
This year's festival offers a rich lineup, with a total of 11 exhibitions and four calligraphy and painting activities.
Pujiang, which is known as the "hometown of calligraphy and painting" and has given rise to more than 250 calligraphers and painters since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), has held the festival 16 times since 1995.
