The 2023 Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Fair, also known as the 16th Pan'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Fair, opened in Pan'an county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province on Nov 10.
At the opening ceremony, the Zhejiang Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Government Reserve Library (pilot), Zhejiang Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Intellectual Property Alliance, and City of Gourmet Chinese Medicinal Food were awarded titles.
The 5th "Top 10 Chinese Medicinal Foods in Zhejiang Province" were also announced, and the Zhejiang Provincial Development Alliance for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Mountainous and Island Counties was established.
Several Traditional Chinese Medicine projects were signed into effect on-site, and a traditional Chinese medicine health tour route was released.
In addition, exhibitions and sales activities were held to showcase Chinese medicine health products and traditional Chinese medicine machinery.
The county currently has a planting area of nearly 80,000 mu (about 5,333 hectares), with leading medicinal herbs such as Zhejiang Scutellaria baicalensis and Eucommia ulmoides, accounting for over 60 percent of the national total.
Pan'an has established a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) health industrial chain consisting of TCM cultivation and processing, trade circulation, research and development, and health tourism. The county is currently home to 249 TCM production companies, forming a TCM manufacturing industrial system that integrates Chinese herbal medicine slices, formula granules, patented Chinese medicine, and health products.
The total output value of the TCM industry in the county has reached 7 billion yuan, making it the main local industry.
