Six places in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, have been included on the list of demonstration areas for improving urban and rural landscapes, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced on Sept 12, while forty-three places in the province made the list.
Improving urban and rural landscapes constitutes an important part of Zhejiang's efforts to build itself into a demonstration zone for common prosperity.
Jinhua launched a campaign to improve its urban and rural landscapes in 2021, focusing on upgrading and preserving natural spaces, historical culture and modern buildings based on different types of local conditions.
Following the philosophy of sustainable development and improving people's well-being, the local government has also channeled more resources into upgrading urban functions and ecological protection while improving the landscapes.
Jinhua is currently home to 51 demonstration urban and rural landscape places.
