Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province has in recent months been ramping up efforts to improve its transportation facilities to welcome the upcoming Asian Games scheduled to be held from Sept 23 to Oct 8.

For example, the city has completed the construction of four temporary parking lots featuring 6,400 parking spots and upgraded lighting, signs and markings near the four Asian Games venues.

Authorities have also been making efforts to improve transportation during the Games and formulated 44 plans focusing on sports competitions, transportation capacity and supporting facilities.

The local government has assigned each task to specific individuals and described them in as much detail as possible, said the person in charge of the Asian Games transportation security work group.

The person added that authorities will refine and polish the traffic routes for different groups, improve transportation guidelines for various customer segments, strengthen overall coordination and communication, and ensure high-quality and efficient transportation security for different customer segments, including athletes, technical officials, and registered media.

As a co-host city of the Games, Jinhua will hold the soccer and sepak takraw competitions.
