Xu Zhongyue, an inheritor of black pottery techniques in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, has made a series of Asian Games-themed works to welcome the upcoming sporting scheduled to be held from Sept 23 to Oct 8.
One of his works is a vase featuring depictions of volleyball, table tennis, archery, and gymnastics.
The vase is now displayed at the black pottery art museum in Jinhua's Xiajinshan village.
The museum was established by Xu three years ago and showcases the 140-year history of black pottery techniques.
The vase received a silver prize at the 11th China (Zhejiang) Arts and Crafts Expo this May and will be exhibited in Hangzhou, where the Asian Games will take place.
