Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province seized the first position in courier service from January to July, surpassing cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Jieyang, and Hangzhou, according to statistics recently released by the State Post Bureau.

The city's express delivery volume reached 721.72 million items in the first seven months of this year, an increase of 11.5 percent compared to the same period last year. The cumulative revenue from express delivery services reached 20.26 billion yuan ($2.79 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percent.

In recent years, the express delivery industry in Jinhua has developed rapidly. In 2020, the city's total volume of express delivery reached the top spot nationwide for the first time and it has continued to hold that position. Statistics show that an average of over 30 million express items are sent from Jinhua to all parts of the country and the world every day.

The rapid increase in express delivery volume is a result of continuously improving services in the industry. Since 2014, Jinhua has been shifting from traditional freight transportation to express logistics. It was the first center in the country to complete the construction of express delivery parks, and it has also delivered express delivery to villages, factories, and international markets.

Jinhua is currently home to 250 registered express delivery companies, 18 large-scale distribution centers, and over 1,200 branch offices and township service points.
