A lantern parade was held in Zhongjie village in Xiaoshun town, Jindong district, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 21 to celebrate the harvest and create an atmosphere to welcome the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games.

Listed as a city-level intangible cultural heritage, the lantern parade is a traditional celebration event that started in the 1970s.

Lantern shows, hanfu shows, art performances, and Asian Games-themed lantern riddles were featured during the event.

The town is planning to build an ICH museum to promote the intangible culture and enrich the spiritual life of residents, which will in turn aid its rural vitalization drive.
