A women's dragon boat team from Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, claimed a bronze medal at the 16th World Dragon Boat Championship in Thailand, held from Aug 7 to 13.
The championship included 351 competitions, in which 2,987 players from 21 countries and regions across the world participated.
The China delegation was composed of more than 300 players, and the Jinhua team was a one-of-a-kind delegation from Zhejiang province.
The Jinhua team took part in the 200-meter, 500-meter, 1,000-meter and 2,000-meter dragon boat races during the championship, which was organized by the International Dragon Boat Association, founded in 1991. The next championship will be held in Germany in 2025.
