Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province has launched 200 projects with a combined investment of 17.3 billion yuan ($2.41 billion) to improve its urban landscape in an effort to welcome the upcoming Asian Games.

Specifically, the city invested 560 million yuan to upgrade transportation facilities, including 12 high-speed entrances and five high-speed railway stations.

The local government has in recent months been optimizing 34 commuting roads for the Asian Games through renovating road surfaces, increasing green areas and improving streetlight facilities.

Authorities have also been ramping up efforts to launch projects related to people's wellbeing, such as pocket parks and waste transfer stations to improve the living environment, with 19 pocket parks built this year.

As one of the co-host cities, Jinhua will host the soccer and sepak takraw, or kick volleyball, competitions.
