Pujiang enhances value chain of grape sector

The 16th Pujiang Grape Festival opened on Aug 4 in Hengshan village of Pujiang county in East China's Zhejiang province. The event showcased various initiatives aimed at promoting the high-quality development of the grape industry in the county, local media reported.

During the opening ceremony, the county's government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the National Grape Industry Technology System, and the county's bureau of agriculture and rural affairs signed a cooperation agreement with the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Information Technology.

Additionally, the county's Supply and Marketing Cooperative Union signed an agreement with Zhejiang Nonghe Digital Technology Co to develop the Pujiang grape industry trading and settlement system.

With an annual investment of over 20 million yuan ($2.8 million) in support of grape-related industries, the county has made significant progress in promoting the development of the sector.

In 2022, total grape production reached 125,000 tons, with a value of more than 1.3 billion yuan, benefiting over 10,000 grape growers who earned an average income of over 110,000 yuan.

Pujiang county has adopted a new model of industrialization combining government support and private sector engagement. By introducing intelligent logistics facilities and advanced management systems, the county has improved the efficiency of grape distribution and reduced costs. By harnessing the full potential of the grape industry and strengthening the entire value chain, the county aims to make significant contributions to the revitalization of its rural areas.
