Wuyi's foreign trade tops 13.5b yuan in H1

The imports and exports of Wuyi county in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, were valued at 13.5 billion yuan ($1.89 billion) in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 0.5 percent, according to statistics from Jinhua Customs.

Exports amounted to 13.28 billion yuan, while imports stood at 223 million yuan, up 556.5 percent year-on-year.

Consumption goods, mechanical and electrical products, and labor-intensive products were the top three categories of imported goods, hitting 115 million yuan, 55 million yuan, and 34 million yuan respectively and representing 16-fold, 10-fold and 8-fold year-on-year increases.

Cross-border e-commerce exports have become a new engine for the high-quality development of foreign trade. In the first half of the year, the county's cross-border e-commerce exports reached 161 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 144.01 percent.

Sports goods, electric motorcycles, and insulated cups ranked in the top three for export volume, with electric motorcycles experiencing a year-on-year increase of over five times.

Wuyi is currently home to 94 cross-border e-commerce companies, demonstrating strong potential and continuing to maintain strong development momentum and effectively supporting the stable scale and optimal structure of its foreign trade.

Wuyi has been focusing on emerging markets in foreign trade to help increase the proportion of emerging industries since the beginning of this year. From January to June, the county's exports to the Middle East, ASEAN, Africa, and India were 1.19 billion yuan, 1.11 billion yuan, 770 million yuan, and 450 million yuan respectively, representing year-on-year growth rates of 72.68 percent, 30.93 percent, 105.9 percent, and 19.75 percent.

Exports to Russia reached 660 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.93% that maintained a growth trend for three consecutive months.
