Jinhua holds session of 2023 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week

A parallel session of the 2023 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week was held in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province on July 8.

The event was intended to display Jinhua's economic, scientific, technological, and cultural strengths and served as a platform for deepening cooperation and exchange between Jinhua and Taiwan.

Agreements on 17 projects with a combined investment of 7.31 billion yuan ($1.02 billion) were signed at the event.

Ye Zhengbo, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, noted at the session that Zhejiang and Taiwan have established close ties in economics, trade and cultural exchange, and Zhejiang is striving to create a favorable business environment for Taiwan investors.

Zhu Linsen, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Zhejiang Province, stated that the Jinhua session, which was held for the first time, will support the integrated development of both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Zhu Chonglie, Party secretary of Jinhua, pointed out that Jinhua has in recent years been making efforts to strengthen cooperation with Taiwan in economy and trade, culture, science and technology, and tourism, and expressed hope that both sides will further expand cooperation.

Lai Zhengyi, chairman of the Taiwan Business Association, stated that he and his team are willing to help more Taiwan enterprises and young people to invest and start businesses in Jinhua.

Lai expressed hope that both sides will share resources, learn from each other, and cooperate in digital economy, cultural tourism, urban development, and other areas.
