The 2nd China Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) Innovation and Development Conference was held in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, on July 3.

The conference brought together guests and scholars from relevant government departments, telecommunications companies, internet enterprises, and research institutions to discuss the innovation and application of IPv6 technology in China.

The conference released the structure of the new IPv6 Scale Deployment and Application Expert Committee as well as related achievements.

Sun Weimin, the chief engineer of the Cyberspace Administration of China, congratulated the conference and expressed that IPv6 is an objective trend in the evolution of the internet, an important direction for technological innovation, and the foundation for building a country with strong internet capabilities. 

Sun emphasized the need to improve internet infrastructure, enhance the capacity and service level of IPv6 networks, establish a sound mechanism for multi-party collaboration, and accelerate digital industrialization. Sun also suggested the need to ensure the scale deployment and security of IPv6, and the need to promote the integration of IPv6 with various industries. 

Zhu Chonglie, Party secretary of Jinhua, emphasized that promoting the scale deployment and the application of IPv6 is in line with development trends relating to the information revolution and that this will expand the country's competitive advantages in the digital era.

 

Zhu added that Jinhua will strive to become a nationally influential IPv6 innovation demonstration base. The city will take this conference as a new starting point to improve its infrastructure support, enhance its service and guarantee capabilities, and consolidate the advantages of IPv6 deployment and application.
