The 16th China (Dongyang) Woodcarving and Bamboo Weaving Art and Craft Expo was held in Dongyang, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 30.
The expo doubled as the 3rd China Mahogany Furniture Exhibition, during which six summits and a furniture vocational skill contest were held.
The 380,000-square-meter expo included nine theme exhibition areas where bamboo weaving handicrafts were highlighted.
Dongyang is renowned for its woodcarving and bamboo weaving, and it is currently home to 11 national masters of Chinese traditional arts and crafts and 60 masters at the provincial level.
Dongyang is currently home to 1,605 mahogany furniture enterprises, of which 47 are above designated size and 13 are industry-leading enterprises.
The city has established a complete mahogany furniture industrial chain that covers timber transactions, furniture design, furniture processing and market sales, and generates a combined annual output of 71.39 billion yuan ($9.86 billion).
