Twenty-three enterprises in Lanxi, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, were listed among the first group of provincial little giants in 2023, the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang announced on May 11.

The strong results are largely due to efforts by authorities to cultivate "little giant" enterprises in recent years, including establishing profiles for potential little giants, which is key to drawing up customized cultivating plans for the enterprises.

Authorities have also established a task force to visit enterprises regularly, explaining related policies and providing better services.

Lanxi Wheeltop Co, a national little giant enterprise focused on the manufacturing of auto spare parts and motor spare parts, is one of the beneficiaries of the policies.

Wheeltop applied for a program ahead of schedule under the guidance of the task force and completed the application within just 10 days, leading to it receiving a subsidy of 1 million yuan ($140,300.74).

In addition, authorities have rolled out favorable policies covering financial support and tax and fee reductions to create a conducive environment for nurturing more little giants.

Lanxi is currently home to 96 provincial little giant enterprises, of which six are national little giant enterprises.
