Jinhua's GDP increases by 5.5% in Q1

Jinhua's gross domestic product (GDP) was valued at 133.04 billion yuan ($19.29 billion) in the first quarter of this year, up 5.5 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the Jinhua bureau of statistics on April 21.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries was 2.48 billion yuan, 51.59 billion yuan and 78.97 billion yuan, a rise of 3.6 percent, 2 percent, and 7.9 percent respectively.

Its agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries registered a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent during the period.

The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in Jinhua expanded 1.2 percent year-on-year to 28.5 billion yuan.

Stable growth was seen in the service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 7.9 percent in added value from January to March.

During the same period, the city's investment in fixed assets recorded a 12.9-percent increase.

Its foreign trade volume rose 11.3 percent year-on-year to 170.82 billion yuan, with exports soaring 8.2 percent to 146.46 billion yuan.

The city's retail sales of social consumer goods recorded an uptick of 5.5 percent.

Its fiscal revenue increased 10.2 percent year-on-year to 18.39 billion yuan.

Income levels also improved. The city's overall per capita disposable income in the first quarter increased by 3.2 percent to 19,100 yuan. The per capita disposable income of urban residents rose to 23,050 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 11,498 yuan.
