Pan'an county in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province has been included in a provincial pilot program aimed at bolstering the cultural industry in rural areas, the Zhejiang Province Department of Culture and Tourism announced on April 10.
Thirteen counties and districts in the province made the list.
Pan'an has over the past two decades been making efforts to develop its Chinese medicine cultural sector.
For example, Pan'an has been tapping its Chinese medicine cultural resources to develop its homestay economy, rural tourism and wellness industry as part of efforts to drive rural vitalization.
Authorities will focus efforts on advancing the integration of Chinese medicine culture with intangible cultural heritage experience and study tours in the future, according to local media reports.
