The 2023 Lanxi Marathon was held in the county-level city of Lanxi, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province on April 9.
Nearly 10,000 people from all over the country participated in the event, which comprised a half marathon, a mini marathon and a 1.5-kilometer parent-child run.
Yang Xiaojun won the men's half marathon with a time of 1 hour, 8 minutes and 59 seconds, while Pan Hong won the women's category.
The eighth rural marathon ever held in the city, the event is part of efforts by authorities to drive rural revitalization.
Participants can visit some of the city's scenic spots, including Liudongshan Scenic Attraction, Zhuge Bagua village and Tianxia Jiangnan Scenic Area, for free from April 9 to 10, said a local official.
He added that the event has been playing a significant role in bolstering the city's cultural and tourism sector.
