Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province has made significant progress in advancing the high-quality development of its manufacturing industry, with the number of high-tech enterprises increasing from 362 in 2016 to 1,852 in 2022, official statistics show.
The proportion of the added value of the high-tech sector to the city's total industrial value-added income rose from 37.11 percent to 63.01 percent during the period.
Among those that have undergone this transformation is Zhejiang Painier Technology Inc.
Painier, which produces and sells multipurpose outboard engines and gardening tools, has installed automated production lines and intelligent warehouse equipment.
Niu Shouchang, the director of a workshop at Painier, said that the automated production line has improved the company's output and product quality.
Zhejiang Baokang Wheel Manufacture Co Ltd is another company that has undergone digital transformation and intelligent upgrading.
The company now uses intelligent robots that can spin a wheel hub within three minutes. Previously, it took a technician an hour to complete the same task.
In addition, Baokang has launched a digital signage and a real-time production control system that provides staff with information about production flow and stock status.
