14 villages in Jinhua listed as Chinese ancient villages

Fourteen villages in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, have been included in a national program aimed at protecting historical relics and culture, according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on March 21.

The city is currently home to 118 national traditional villages, 14 provincial traditional villages, and 31 city traditional villages.

Here are some of the traditional ancient villages.

Shangyang village

Shangyang village in Wucheng district, which has eight cultural relics, boasts more than 30 buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).

Qingyanghong village

Situated in Yangbu town of the Jinhua economic development zone, Qingyanghong village has more than 40 buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).

Zhiyingsi village

Located in Yongkang, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhiyingsi village has two cultural relics and 10 ancient buildings.

Donglong village

Donglong village in Wuyi county has a history of more than 800 years and is the settlement of descendants of Tao Yuanming, a famous poet in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 317-420).

Damin village

Damin village in Pan'an county has five cultural relics and four intangible cultural heritage items.
