Huang Lichou, a craftswoman from Yongkang, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province has recently been teaching kids to make dough figurines of mascots for the upcoming Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

Huang, who is a retired PE teacher, is an inheritor of the city's intangible cultural heritage item - palm fiber weaving.

Huang, who also excels in dough modeling and paper quilling, said she hopes that kids can learn how to appreciate traditional Chinese culture during the making of the dough figurines.

Huang said she has made hundreds of dough figurines of mascots over the past two years. She has also been researching ways to better preserve these figurines.
