A business delegation from Wuyi county, Jinhua, visited Japan to participate in the 95th Tokyo International Gift Show in February.

During the visit, the delegation met with the China-Japan Economic Development Center, the Japan Zhejiang General Chamber of Commerce, and leading Japanese companies to further expand their operations and attract investment.

Japan has always been an important economic and trade partner of Wuyi. In 2022, Wuyi exported goods worth $115.5 million to Japan, accounting for 2.93 percent of the county's total exports. These exports include products in the chemical industry, kitchenware, auto parts, motorcycles, furniture, and tourism and leisure products.

Yan Shengyuan, head of Zhejiang Bodong Industrial and Trading Co, said that the trip gave them a chance to visit old clients and sign cooperation deals worth about $6 million. The company also reached cooperation intention agreements with seven new clients, some of which will come to Wuyi to inspect at the end of March.

During the five-day trip, the Wuyi business delegation held discussions and negotiations with five Japanese fluorine chemical industry giants on business opportunities in Wuyi's new material industrial park, which mainly involve fluorine-based new materials - one of Wuyi's pillar industries.
