The gross domestic product of Jinhua grew 2.5 percent year-on-year to 556.25 billion yuan ($82.07 billion) in 2022.

The per capita disposable income of residents is growing faster than the overall economy, and the income gap between urban and rural residents has narrowed to 1.95.

The value-added of the manufacturing industry, strategic emerging industries, and high-end equipment manufacturing industry, which make up the core of the digital economy, all ranked first in the province.

The city's foreign trade exceeded 680 billion yuan, with imports topping the province with 88.22 billion yuan in total, an increase of 59.4 percent year-on-year.

Jinhua operated a total of 2,269 Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight trains in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 19.2 percent, the China (Jinhua) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone was approved for construction, and the export value of cross-border e-commerce was the highest in the province.

The city did an excellent job hosting the 2022 China (Zhejiang) Forum on China-Africa Economic and Trade Relations and China-Africa Cultural Cooperation and Exchange Week.

The city became the first in central or western Zhejiang that has hosted a provincial sporting event - the 17th Games of Zhejiang Province, and the scale, number of sporting events and number of participants were all the highest in the event's history.

The Jinhua-Yiwu-Dongyang line, the first rail transit project in Jinhua, started trial operations.

Jinhua was included as part of the "waste-free" city program launched by the Ministry of Economy and Environment during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, thanks to its efforts made in treating plastic waste and encouraging locals to sort their garbage.
