Yongkang, a county-level city of Jinhua, issued a total of 693 certificates of origin under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership for goods worth $41.17 million in 2022, according to data from the Yongkang branch office of Jinhua Customs.

With the RCEP certificates, 55 applied enterprises in Yongkang saw 5.32 million yuan ($784,459) in preferential tariffs.

Under the RCEP, Zhejiang Haers Vacuum Container Co also invested in a factory in Thailand, a member country of RCEP.

Cheng Xiaoyan, deputy general manager of the company's international marketing division, said their factory in Thailand has started full-scale operations. Under the RCEP agreement, the company's self-developed production equipment can enjoy tariff concessions and preferential tariffs of over 1 million yuan when exported

Cheng added that the company's factory in Thailand is considered an important way to enhance its international market share and continuously improve its comprehensive competitiveness.

The approved exporter system is one of the highlights of the RCEP. Enterprises that become approved exporters do not need to apply for a certificate of origin to customs on a per-invoice basis when exporting goods, and they can issue their own original declaration at any time to obtain benefits from the importing country, which is equivalent to the certificate of origin issued by customs. The two approved exporters in Jinhua are both located in Yongkang.
