Jinhua's GDP up 2.5% in 2022

The GDP of Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province grew by 2.5 percent year-on-year in 2022, indicating that the economy has made progress despite multiple headwinds, the local bureau of statistics announced on Jan 19.

The city's annual GDP came in at 556.25 billion yuan ($82.14 billion) in 2022.

The city's agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing industries achieved an output value of 25.93 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.1 percent.

Industrial enterprises above designated size realized an added value of 120.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent, and achieved a sales output value of 676.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent.

From January to November of 2022, the city's service industrial enterprises above designated size realized operating income of 85.98 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.9 percent.

In 2022, the city's total retail sales of social consumer goods saw an uptick of 3 percent to 296.53 billion yuan.

Major industries such as electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing, and automobile manufacturing saw annual output grow 41.1 percent, 13.6 percent and 40.5 percent, respectively.

Jinhua saw its foreign trade in goods grow by 16.3 percent year-on-year to 683.87 billion yuan. Exports rose by 11.8 percent year-on-year to 595.66 billion yuan, ranking second in the province, while its imports topped the province with 88.22 billion yuan in total, an increase of 59.4 percent year-on-year.
