Jinhua enterprises attend trade expo in Dubai

A group of foreign trade enterprises in Jindong district in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, attended the 13th China- United Arab Emirates Trade Expo in Dubai from Dec 19 to 21.

In recent years, Jindong district has been deepening economic and trade tries with the UAE. From January to October this year, Jindong district exported goods worth nearly 21 million yuan ($3 million) to the UAE.

Wu Feifei, sales manager of Jinhua Bodi Import and Export Co, said the company has sent two staff members with four large suitcases of samples. They went to Dubai not only for the expo, but also to visit their customers and promote themselves in the local market.

Tu Jinmei, general manager of Zhejiang Yishang Simulation Plant Co, said it was the first time the company has participated in a trade expo in Dubai. Tu said they started preparing half a month in advance and expected to received many overseas orders.

Tu added that the government would subsidize 60 percent of the booth fee and 50 percent of airfare, which is partly why they decided to participate in the expo in Dubai.

Jinhua has released a series of measures to help small- and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises go abroad to participate in trade fairs.

Officials from local commerce bureau said that the government hopes that by organizing a series of international exhibitions and business negotiation activities, they can help enterprises communicate with former business partners and make new ones in order to obtain more orders and increase their presence in international markets.

From January to October this year, foreign trade in Jindong district increased by 8.3 percent yearly to 37.3 billion yuan.
