The annual tea-themed temple fair was held in the Yushan Ancient Tea Farm in in Pan'an county, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, on Dec 15.
During the fair, giant flags painted with dragons and tigers were waved by about one hundred flag bearers to the sound of Chinese drums.
The temple fair at tea plantation, also known as "Cha Cha Chang" in Chinese, is a traditional folk activity centered on the ancient tea field of Yushan Mountain in Pan'an, which has been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage items.
The tea, which has delighted and fascinated the world for millennia, has finally received top-level global recognition as a shared cultural treasure of mankind.
Traditional tea processing techniques and their associated social practices in China were added to UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November.
Jinhua's two national cultural heritage items related to tea are the temple fair at tea plantation and the green-tea-making technique (Wuzhou Juyan tea).
