The 20th China (Jinhua) Flower and Seedling Expo and the 4th Jindong Agricultural Exhibition were launched in Lipu town, Jinhua, Zhejiang province on Nov 26.
The expo displayed new concepts, products, and technologies of the flower and seedling industry. The 8,600-square-meter exhibition area was made up of over 440 booths, displaying over 3,000 kinds of products from more than 150 enterprises.
The event also consisted of an online edition to promote the flower and seedling industry in Jindong and provide a platform for matchmaking events.
Jinhua has a long history of planting flowers and seedlings, and the planting area for shaped seedlings and stump bonsai in Jindong district is the largest in Zhejiang province.
Jindong district currently plants over 50,000 mu (3333.33 hectares) of flowers and seedlings, and over 30,000 people are working in the industry. The flowers and seedlings industry in the district generates more than 3 billion yuan ($430.94 million) in sales revenue annually.
During the opening ceremony, various awards were given to new and popular products of the flower and seedling industry. The Jinhua Digital Flower and Tree Expo Center of Zhejiang Province was launched as well.
