Huayuan village sees robust development

Huayuan village, Nanma town, Dongyang, Jinhua was recognized by Zhejiang province for piloting the development of a provincial small city, according to local media outlets.

In 2010, Zhejiang led the implementation of the small-city cultivation pilot project in China. In October 2020, Huayuan village was included in the fourth batch of pilot small cities in the province.

Since then, Huayuan village has continued to focus on industrial agglomeration, population concentration, function integration, and resource intensiveness.

Huayuan village, covering an area of 12 square kilometers, currently has a permanent population of more than 65,000. The village continues to improve basic supporting facilities, public services, rural revitalization and people's wellbeing.

The village has also developed a number of major industries, including biology and medicine, new energy and new materials, mahogany furniture and wood products, new materials and construction, education, health, and cultural tourism.

In 2021, Huayuan village achieved an operating income of 64.2 billion yuan ($9.19 billion) and was home to 3,190 private industrial and commercial households. The per capita annual income of locals reached 156,000 yuan. A total of 3 million tourists visited the village.
