Jinhua to build new science and technology park

Construction started on the Zhejiang Normal University Jinhua Science and Technology Park project on Nov 8.

The project is part of Zhejiang Normal University's efforts to build an innovation city and is key to the construction of the Central Zhejiang Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.

The development plan of the Central Zhejiang Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, officially approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Government, is the fourth scientific and technological innovation corridor plan officially released by the province.

According to the plan, efforts will be made to further develop the Jinyi metropolitan area and accelerate the liberation and development of productivity in central Zhejiang by relying on technological innovation.

The Zhejiang Normal University Innovation City will be built based on the school's academic and talent advantages and will develop into a key area for scientific and technological innovation within a range of 13 square kilometers.

By 2027, a total of 10.5 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) will be spent on the Zhejiang Normal University Innovation City, including the construction of a national university science and technology park, two national incubators, one provincial innovative research and development institution, and more than 10 provincial incubators and maker spaces.

A total of 1.05 billion yuan will be spent on the Jinhua Science and Technology Park, which will cover a total of 114 mu (7.6 hectares). It will include R&D buildings and maker spaces mainly for the development of digital economy, life and health, and new materials.
