Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province launched a new exhibition hall on July 5 introducing the historical development of Jinhua's printing industry and Chinese printing.
The exhibition hall is made up of five parts, including areas for displaying the history of printing in ancient and modern Jinhua, the development of printing technologies and printing enterprises in the city, as well as an experience area.
More than 50 historic objects related to printing have been collected by the municipal printing industry association for exhibition.
Printing is one of the four great inventions of ancient China, . The earliest form of printing was woodblock printing, with existing examples from China dating back to before AD 220. Jinhua's engraving and printing industry was quite famous in the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties.
