Sales of 65 monitored businesses, including shopping malls, supermarkets, car dealerships, hotels, and restaurants, in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, were valued at 671 million yuan ($94.35 million) during the National Day holiday ending on Oct 7.
The figure represents a yearly uptick of 6.04 percent, indicating a stable recovery in local consumption in the city, according to official data from the Jinhua municipal bureau of commerce.
During the seven-day period, surveyed car dealerships in the city generated sales of 57.41 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.25 percent.
Many shopping malls in the city hosted events and offered discounts and coupons to attract buyers, which played a big part in the consumption boom.
In addition, restaurants of all types were popular among consumers during the holiday. Many people chose to have meals with their families and long-lost friends and enjoy specialties in the countryside.
