Jinhua foreign trade sees growth in first 8 months

Jinhua's imports and exports were valued at 441.73 billion yuan ($61.76 billion) in the first eight months of this year, an increase of 22 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics from Jinhua Customs.

The value of exports totaled 56.52 billion yuan, rising 6.8 percent year-on-year, while imports amounted to 50.68 billion yuan, a surge of 63.4 percent.

In August, the city's foreign trade increased by 6.8 percent yearly to 56.52 billion yuan. The city's imports achieved a record high of 7.75 billion yuan, up 60.6 percent annually.

The United States, the European Union, and the ASEAN were the top three trade partners with Jinhua from January to August this year. Exports to the three areas increased by 32.9 percent, 43.8 percent and 6.2 percent year-on-year respectively to 65.11 billion yuan, 64.35 billion yuan and 35.65 billion yuan.

During the same period, exports to Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries amounted to 57.29 billion yuan, an increase of 14.2 percent year-on-year.

In the first eight months of 2022, the value of imports and exports of private enterprises in the city reached 433.47 billion yuan, an increase of 22.4 percent annually.

With the continuous optimization of the city's business environment, imports and exports by private enterprises in the first eight months accounted for 98.1 percent of the city's total foreign trade value in this period, an increase of 0.3 percentage points.
